A Cry of Dissatisfaction

Bright Warden Asamoah

Poverty itself has dried up the lips of the poor
Fear is creeping into the bones of the rich
Leaders are crowned with corruption
Subjects are drowned in tears
Life is rough, survival is tough.

Peace! where are you?
Security! out of your hidden place!
Comfort! the children need you
Joy has been consistently inconsistent
The land is vexed
It keeps mute.

Leaders are drunk with affluence
Love for the subjects is a secondary matter
Yet the camel is never satisfied
with a barrel of water.
